Ales for ALS Beerfest at Faction BrewingAles for ALS Beerfest at Faction Brewing

The second annual Ales for ALS BeerFest will be held Saturday, August 8th at Faction Brewing Company.

Faction Brewing will host the participants of the 'Ales for ALS' program benefitting ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), including Beachwood BBQ, Cellarmaker, Pizza Port, Rare Barrel, Russian River and more!

Loftus Ranches and Hopunion, both of Yakima, WA, along with the Smith and Hanses families, have created Ales for ALS to support a very worthy cause: ALS research. They have offered participating brewers access to a proprietary hop blend, free of charge, in exchange for participation in Ales for ALS.

While we would like to work with every brewer in the United States (that would really raise a lot of research funding!) we are limited by the hop blend supply. Participating brewers received an invitation from Loftus Ranches and Hopunion, and each has brewed a special beer with these hops and will donate a portion of the sales to ALS TDI, the world's leader in ALS research.

A full list of participants and brewers is included in the posters and announcements for the event. Please contact Faction Brewing or see www.factionbrewing.com for more information.

All proceeds go to the ALS-TDI Foundation.

Live music by Lime Colony and the Pat Jordan Band! Food brought to you by Scolari's, Pelican Po'boys, LUX BBQ, and Sticks.

Tickets will also be available in the Faction Brewing tasting room in July and August. Designated driver tickets will be available online and at the door.

21+, ID required, no children and no dogs the day of the festival.

Public transportation is highly recommended! Faction will be providing a FREE shuttle via the Mexican Bus from West Oakland BART to Faction at 11:30am, 12:15pm, 1:00pm, 1:45pm. No set schedule for return to 12th St BART but will likely begin at 4:30.

The Alameda Ferry will also be arriving from SF at 11:05am, 12:50pm, 1:20pm and 3:05pm and will depart to SF at 3:55pm, 5:10pm, and 6:10pm.

The line 31 AC Transit bus will arrive at Monarch St. at 11:48am, 12:18pm, 12:48pm, 1:18pm, 1:48pm, and will depart 4:48pm, 5:18pm, 5:48pm, and 6:18pm.
